My First 35 Days as an Amazon Influencer

First, if you aren’t approved as an Amazon Influencer, check out my tips in this blog post:

  • Amazon Influencer Program Requirements Explained (2026)

Why I wanted to try Amazon Influencer Program in 2026

I have been an Amazon Associate for 15 years. I have made some money promoting Amazon products as an Associate. I shared links on my blog and YouTube channel with the occasional commission earned.

However, overall, this wasn’t my main affiliate program I focused on promoting. I just wasn’t seeing much success to make it worth it.

Here’s my Amazon Associates earning report for April 2026:

Photo example of my Amazon Associates Commission April 2026.
My Amazon Associates Commission April 2026.

As you can see, my Amazon Associates only made $16.62 for the month of April 2026. This is income I am grateful for, but not enough to make that program my main focus.

My preferred affiliate program was, and I still use, is BrandCycle.

  • Top 8 Questions about BrandCycle – answered! (and honest review from long time user!)

As my YouTube channel started to grow, I learned more about the Amazon Influencer program (which allows you to have a storefront – although just recently Associates also are able to make storefronts – and publish review videos directly on Amazon product pages.

The content I make for my Dailey Kitchen YouTube channel includes a lot of product reviews of kitchen products so it made sense for me to share those same videos on Amazon.

Unfortunately, the first time I applied in 2025 I got denied.

So, I kinda gave up on the idea.

Then, in April 2026 I started hearing more about the Amazon Influencer Program. I decided to apply again.

Then, literally within minutes I was approved!

On April 9, 2026 I started my Amazon Influencer journey.

I had heard about a tool I could use that would help me find Amazon products to review and manage my Creator Connections campaigns called Viral Vue.

I was hesitant to pay for the Pro Plan so I started with just the free version.

But, the more I used the Amazon platform, and the more I learned about Viral Vue, I realized the quickest way I was going to profit was to just sign up for the Pro Plan.

Then on April 10, I started with the Viral Vue Pro Plan.

Learn more about Viral Vue for Amazon Influencers and why I think it’s an important tool for success:

  • Viral Vue Review and Top 8 Questions – answered!

I also binge watched all the Viral Vue YouTube channel videos and began learning everything I could from them.

Here’s a video showing how Viral Vue works:

I focused on several things in the first week:

  1. Downloading and uploading to my Amazon Storefront all of my relevant YouTube videos.
  2. Tagging relevant products to these videos.
  3. Making Idea Lists including these products.
  4. Making Collages featuring these products.

By the first week I had created about 100 posts between Shoppable Videos, Ideas Lists and Collages.

Very quickly I started earning commissions through the Amazon Influencer program.

Here’s my screen shot showing my entire earnings for the month of April 2026:

I could tell right away this was going to be a worthwhile venture!

By the end of April 2026, I had profited $123.16 from the Amazon Influencer Program.

I paid about $80 for my Viral Vue Pro Plan. At first, my plan was just to use the tool for one month then cancel and go it alone.

And I did cancel it.

I still had about 2 weeks left on my membership so continued using Viral Vue.

As my subscription was coming close to ending though, I realize this tool was more valuable than I originally thought.

Viral Vue was automating my Creator Connections campaigns.

Creator Connections campaigns are additional commission bumps that brands use to drive sales and promote products. Amazon Influencers can earn 10-50% more commissions on products that are running campaigns.

The problem is you have to “Accept” these campaings to benefits from these additional commissions.

This means you have to manually search through every campaign, match them to your existing published content, and click “Accept”. If you have over 200 products in your Storefront, this is not possible to do without taking hours each week!

But, with Viral Vue, I can run an automated system for scanning these campaigns and automatically accepting ones relevant to your products.

Basically, this is like free money! I don’t have to create new content to accept Creator Connections campaigns. I just have to make sure I’ve accepted the campaign.

So, I said to myself, “If I can make enough to at least cover the cost of Viral Vue, I’ll resubscribe”.

And, about 15 minutes later I checked my sales reports and I was at $78.

So, I decided to renew my Viral Vue subscription and I’m so happy I did!

Here’s my May 2026 earnings report for Amazon Influencer Program so far (today is May 16, so this is 1/2 month income):

Photo example of Amazon Influencer Program Earning Report May 2026.
My Amazon Influencer Program Earning Report May 2026.

In just two weeks, leveraging my Viral Vue tools like accepting Creator Connections campaigns, automating brand deal messaging, managing my products and more, I’ve made $236.61!

This means, that in just in 5 weeks of getting approved:

I’ve earned a total of $359.77 from the Amazon Influencer Program!

I’ve published 280 posts.

Photo example of My first 30 days as Amazon Influencer 2026.
My first 35 days as Amazon Influencer 2026.

Now, my results may not be typical. Everyone is different. This is just what I experienced in my first 35 days as an Amazon Influencer in 2026.

I have however created systems and leveraged tools like Viral Vue to earn this much so far.

I’m very happy with my results!

And, the best part is that now that I’ve published this content, it stays on Amazon and can continue to keep earning me income!

It’s not just one day of work that I get paid for. It’s residual income.

Here’s a few things I learned in my first 35 days as an Amazon Influencer:

Researching Products is Important

I can make videos all day long about products, but knowing which products are selling and which have additional commission campaigns helped me narrow down and focus on the most profitable products first.

Watch this quick video about how I research products using Viral Vue:

Filming Videos Should Be Simple

Instead of fussing over lighting and set up, I focused on making sure my audio was clear and that I could demonstrate the products efficiently.

Here’s a video about my cheap gear setup:

Uploading Consistently is Important

I went all in. Because I was paying for Viral Vue, I felt a sense of urgency to make and upload content. This was actually a good thing because I was able to be very productive these last 5 weeks! I focused on uploading as many videos, Idea Lists and Collages I could each day.

I averaged about 8 pieces of content per day.

What Surprised Me the Most

I was most pleasantly surprised by the Creator Connections opportunities and how much more I’m actually earning by utilizing these. This month so far I’m making more through Creator Connections than regular Amazon commissions!

You Never Know Which Products Will Perform Best

Some products I thought would perform the best, didn’t perform well. And, some products I didn’t really focus much energy on are making me the most commissions. Mostly, this is because of Creator Connections bonus commissions.

Keeping Viewers Engaged is Important

Some people say not to edit your videos, but my method of filming includes taking a lot of short videos and editing them together. I don’t focus on major editing, but I do make sure my videos are concise and keep the viewer engaged.

I don’t like a lot of silence in my videos and I like to change the view every few seconds so people can get a more in-depth view of the product.

Mistakes I Made

Thankfully I don’t think I made a lot of mistakes in my first 35 days. I think having a clear plan and taking the time to study the program to understand exactly what my goals should be really paid off.

I did learn from one mistake.

Buying products is expensive unless you really need it or already own it.

Otherwise, choose the products you buy to review strategically.

Some products I purchased probably won’t make a return on investment, and I didn’t really need them.

Other things I won’t do again:

  • Reviewing Random Products
  • Buying Too Many Items
  • Overthinking Video Quality
  • Ignoring Competition

What I Will Continue to Do

Here’s what’s working for me and what I will continue to do:

  • Focus on Fewer Better Products
  • Research Before Buying Products
  • Batch Film Videos
  • Use Repeatable Formats

FAQs

Here’s quick answers to questions that you might be wondering:

How many videos did I upload?

I uploaded 280 posts, which is a combination of videos, Idea Lists and Collages. I uploaded a total of 217 videos in my first 5 weeks.

Some videos I had already made and just uploaded them from my YouTube channel. I think it was about 70 videos. The rest I made during the 5 weeks.

It is important to note that I will make several videos about one product. So, I didn’t review 217 products, but I made 217 videos.

Did I earn commissions immediately?

In the first 3 weeks I made $123.16 as an Amazon Influencer. I earned income in the first few days. As my video total increased, so did my commissions. In weeks 4 and 5, I started making a lot more per week.

Would I still start today?

Yes! But, only with Viral Vue 🙂
