Wondering how to find products for Amazon Influencer videos? In this post I share how I research products and decide which ones are worth my time to make videos about. I also share how I determine if a product is worth purchasing or waiting for free samples.

How to Find Products for Amazon Influencer Videos
Here’s my method for finding products on Amazon that are worthy of time time to promote:
First things to know
Here’s three things to know before even starting product research:
Product selection matters more than follower count
By focusing on selecting great products to review instead of growing your actual followers is more important. On Amazon, follower count doesn’t really matter (at least at this time). Instead, product review success is based on several qualities:
- Engaging review
- Helpful content
- Ability to see the product clearly in the video and hear you well
Searchable products outperform random reviews
Instead of wasting your time reviewing random products, consider spending that time researching products to make sure they are actually selling and worth your time to promote.
Products that aren’t selling, or are often returned, are less worthy of your time than products that have a big sales volume.
Make videos about products you are already passionate about
UNLESS, you are really passionate about a specific product. If you are really passionate about it, it’s still worth making videos about for these reasons:
You will get good practice making videos
Your natural enthusiasm will shine through and may introduce this product to people who wouldn’t normally consider purchasing it.
Here’s an example below from my Dailey Kitchen Youtube Channel.
I am really passionate about using my soy milk maker so I made a whole series promoting this product off Amazon. I promote it on my blog and YouTube channel. This is beneficial because I am sending customers to Amazon (which Amazon really loves!).
This soy milk maker doesn’t necessarily sell a lot of products, but it does engage viewers and introduces them to a new product they didn’t know about.
This also helps me introduce other products to customers, like the nut milk strainer and ingredients I use with the product. So, making the videos about this nut milk maker helps:
- Gain viewer trust
- Introduce new products
- Send customers to Amazon
- Give me practice in making good quality videos
Using Viral Vue makes for faster research

Now, without Viral Vue, I wouldn’t be able to do this research effectively. Their product research tools help me in several ways:
- Shows me how many units a product sales on average every day or month
- Tells me if products have Creator Connections promotions
- Gives me the total number of videos that have been published about the product
That last one is really helpful because it shows me if there are 500 videos, or 0. Knowing this makes a big difference on if I consider spending time making a video about it.

What Makes a Good Amazon Influencer Product?
Here’s what I think makes a good Amazon Influencer product. This is based off my strategy of making videos for YouTube, Pinterest, Amazon and my blog.
Products People Already Search For
I like to share products in categories people are actively searching for.
For example, a lot of people search for nut milk machines on both YouTube and Google. But, there aren’t many people demonstrating how to use this type of machine, or which machine is best.
This was a great niche for me to focus on when I started the Amazon Influencer program. Instead of focusing on products people weren’t already searching for, I was able to capitalize on a product people actively wanted to learn more about and purchase.
Products With Visual Demonstrations
Some products aren’t good for making a demonstration about. Some products make for great demonstrations.
I like to focus on products where I can actually show the product in use.
I’ve found being able to show the product in action leads to longer watch times and engagement with viewers across my platforms. Instead of just talking about the product features, I can give my honest reactions and opinions about the product while it’s being using.
Evergreen vs Trending Products
I like to focus on “evergreen” products, or products that are always getting sales. However, some people like to focus on trending products. It just depends on your strategy.
Sometimes I do review trending products that I think will continue to be popular. For example, milk frothers have been really trending lately, and these are tools that people will probably continue to purchase because who doesn’t love foamy milk on their coffee?
However, trending products are few and far between. I like also building my portfolio of evergreen products, including small kitchen appliances like an Instant Pot and air fryer.
Products With Multiple Buyer Questions
Some products are straight forward purchases, like most common household goods. Others, people have a lot of questions about. For example, the nut milk machine. Most people have never even used one or seen one, but they want to make nut or soy milk.
This was a great opportunity for me to be the person who can answer their questions in my Amazon Shoppable Videos.
Answering questions in your videos makes for great:
- Titles
- Thumbnails
- Viewer engagement
- Demonstrations
Why Cheap Products Can Still Perform Well
Think about the last time you bought something on Amazon.
How much did it cost?
My guess, is that if it was over $40, you probably thought a lot about if you really needed it and if it would serve its purchase for you.
But, what about that $10 kitchen gadget? Did you really think about it, or did someone show you how it worked and then you decided to buy it and try it yourself?
Cheap products like this often times have a lot of sales volume.
The best cheap products to promote are ones that also have Creator Connections campaigns. Instead of earning just the 1-3% commission on smaller products, you can oftentimes earn an extra 10-50%. That really adds up and makes it worth your time to make videos about!
Here’s an example of the milk frother I saw was trending and purchased for less than $10 just to see if it worked with my soy milk:
How I Research Amazon Products
Here’s my step-by-step process for researching Amazon products to review:
Start With Amazon Search Suggestions
The best place to look for products is by checking out their “Movers & Shakers” product listing page. This shows you what products are currently selling well in specific categories. They also update this daily so it’s a really great resource to check often.

I bookmark this page and check it 3-5x a week.
Check Existing Shoppable Videos
Once I’ve found a product I’m interested in, I check to see how many competing videos there already are. If the number is less than 10, generally I see that as a good product to review.
This is where I use Viral Vue for my product research because you cannot see this true number in just the basic Amazon platform. Their tool shows the true number of videos that are published.
Here’s an example of a product with a good Viral Vue score, low number of competing videos, and good monthly product sales:

And, here’s an example of a product with a low Viral Vue score, huge number of competing videos, and decent monthly sales.

Now, just because the product has a lot of competition, doesn’t mean I won’t make a video about it. Especially if I already own it. Because, promoting the product if it has lots of sales is still worthwhile since I can share it with my viewers on YouTube, Pinterest and blog.
But, if my strategy was just sharing Amazon reviews, the low Viral Vue score video probably wouldn’t even make it to the product’s page which means it wouldn’t be shown to perspective buyers.
Watch this video tutorial:
Look for Low Competition Listings
Like I mentioned above, the first photo shows only 2 videos reviewing the product AND still spots left in the carousel. This is a great example of a Low Competition Listing.
Research Seasonal Trends
Another thing to consider focusing on is making videos for the season, especially if you cross post to other platforms like YouTube, Pinterest, and similar channels.
Not only will this help with research, but making content that is relevant to what people are searching for makes your efforts even more worthwhile.
Use Viral Vue to Speed Up Research
I can honestly say that using Viral Vue has saved me so much time, effort and frustration. The monthly cost for the tool has already paid for itself and saved my sanity. It’s also teaching me how to be a more effective Amazon Influencer.
If you are hesitant to purchase the Premium, my recommendation is to invest in one month of the service and see how it helps you improve your Amazon Influencer income.
My personal experience
I have been an Amazon Associate for about 15 years. However, I was barely making any money with off-site commission.
Here’s an example of my Amazon Associate earnings report before getting accepted in the Influencer program and using Viral Vue from March 1-May 13, 2025:

Then, I applied to become an Amazon Influencer. When I got accepted into the platform, I uploaded all of my YouTube videos that were relevant to products on YouTube, and created reviews of products I already owned.
The first few days I tried to research products to review without Viral Vue. It was very slow and I really had no idea which products were worthwhile.
So, I decided to invest in one month of Viral Vue.
In my first 30 days, I went from making just several dollars per month as an Amazon Associate, to making several hundred dollars! And, I was already scoring brand deals and free products within days.
The research I was able to do with Viral Vue paid for itself within weeks.
At the end of my first 30 days using Viral Vue, I considered cancelling it and seeing if I could do it without this extra cost.
Then, I checked my reports and saw that the majority of my commission were from Creator Connections campaigns.
Here’s an example of my earnings report after just 30 days of being an Amazon Influencer and using Viral Vue (I started Viral Vue about 3 days after getting approved):

This report above doesn’t show my off-site commissions, which was about $9.
Being able to search and auto-accept Creator Connections campaigns was actually making me the most money per product. And, I wouldn’t be able to do this without Viral Vue because the time it would take me to search manually and manually accept these campaings wouldn’t make it worth my time.
I decided to just continue my subscription. I figure as long as it is generating enough money to cover the cost of the tool, it’s definitely worth it.
And, not only is it cover the cost because I do all this product research, I am making more money than I ever did prior to joining the Influencer program.
WIN-WIN!

FAQ
Here’s my quick answers to commonly asked questions about Amazon Influencer product research:
How many products should beginners review?
At first, it is smart to just review anything you can find if your goal is to get your first 100 videos made. Brands like to see that you are a dedicated influencer with a lot of videos. So, getting to your first 100 videos is a good first goal.
What I did was went through my library of YouTube videos. Since I have been an Amazon Associate for a long time, I was already promoting Amazon products in my videos. I was able to upload those exact videos to Amazon and that really helped me get to 100 videos within the first week.
Next, I used Viral Vue to search through my past purchase history (and my husbands!) and see which products were worth making videos about. I wrote a list and then quickly made videos for the best products first.
Then, after that I made videos for most everything else I had purchased within the last year.
Are expensive products better?
Yes, and no. It really just depends on how much they sell, if your viewers would buy the product, and how much competition for the product there is.
However, per product, you will make more money because it is a higher sales point.
With cheaper products, it’s the same!
Can small creators succeed?
YES! I recommend sharing your content both on and off Amazon for the most success. But, success really depends on your idea of success. If you want full time income, work more. If you want part time extra income, work as much as you can on your business.
