For many years I owned a Kitchenaid stand mixer. It worked great, however there were several glaring drawbacks so I eventually donated it to my local thrift store. Since then, I’ve found a cheaper stand mixer that works just as well, if not better, and has more perks than the Kitchenaid. Here’s my comparison of the two.
Overview
The Neretva Super Stable Stand Mixer is $159.99, while the KitchenAid Artisan 5-Qt is $495.00 — a $365 difference. If budget is the primary concern, the Neretva wins outright.
Motor & Capacity
The Neretva has a 400W DC motor and a larger 6.34 qt bowl, meaning it can handle bigger batches. The KitchenAid runs a 325W AC motor with a 5 qt bowl. On paper, the Neretva has the edge in raw power and bowl size — which is good news for bread baking and larger batches of dough.
Noise
The Neretva’s DC motor runs at 70dB or less, and reviewers consistently call it quiet. KitchenAid’s AC motor is generally louder. If you’re mixing early in the morning or in an open kitchen, the Neretva has a real advantage here.
