I like to use raw cacao as an alternative to coffee. It does contain a little caffeine, however the caffeine in raw cacao is digested slowly because it also contains protein and fiber. it also contains a lot less caffeine than coffee and it’s hard to overdo it by drinking too much raw cacao.

Chicory root coffee alternative

Daniel Fast coffee substitute mix
Make a big batch of this dry mix recipe and enjoy it all month long.
Equipment
- 1 large Ziplock bag or similar, or container
- 1/2 cup measuring cup
Ingredients
- 3 cups Z Natural Foods Raw Cacao Powder
- 1 cup Organic Turmeric Powder
- 1/2 cup Anthony’s Instant Chicory Root
Directions
- Combine all ingredients into bag. Close bag and mix until ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
- Store in at room temperature until ready to serve.
Serving directions
- 1 tablespoon Daniel Fast coffee substitute mix
- 1/2 cup hot water
- 1/2 cup non-dairy milk
- Stevia Sweetener, if desired
Place dry mix into coffee mug. Pour hot water over and stir until there are no clumps. Add non-dairy milk and optional sweetener, and stir again. Enjoy hot, room temperature or chilled.
