- Mirepoix is a French term used to describe the combination of the three basic vegetables in almost every stock and soup recipes in French cooking. It is equal parts diced onions, carrots and celery.
- Trader Joe’s Mirepoix is a product now offered at this popular grocery chain which features already prepared mirepoix vegetables.

I like to use this mirepoix product for a variety of vegan recipes, including:

No chop recipes
This mix is so great because it takes the labor out of washing and chopping all three of these vegetables. Simply open the container and dump into a pot or skillet. This is a great product for making dump meals and no chop recipes.

This mix is a cheap way to get three vegetables into a budget meal plan. Instead of purchasing all three vegetables, you can purchase just one product for $3.49 and include a variety of vegetables into a meal plan.

Yes, you can freeze Trader Joe’s Mirepoix! I simply place the container into the freezer before the expiration date. I also use this product for freezer meal prep, like I describe below.
