Homemade Vanilla Frozen Yogurt
Ingredients
- 2 cups yogurt (see variations below)
- ¼ cup sugar*
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ⅛ tsp fine sea salt
Instructions
- Whisk together until the sugar dissolves.
- Chill for at least 2 hours (or overnight).
- Pour into the InstantChill.
- Churn using the Ice Cream setting until thick and creamy.
- Enjoy immediately as soft serve or freeze 1–2 hours for a firmer scoop.
Yogurt Variations
- Whole Milk Greek Yogurt: Thickest and creamiest. Add 1–2 Tbsp milk if it’s too thick to pour.
- Regular Whole Milk Yogurt: Use as written.
- Low-Fat or Nonfat Yogurt: For a creamier texture, add 1–2 Tbsp light corn syrup or 1 Tbsp heavy cream.
- Plain Plant-Based Yogurt (Cashew, Almond, Oat, Soy, etc.): Use as written. For extra creaminess, add 1 Tbsp light corn syrup or 1–2 Tbsp nut or seed butter.
- Vanilla Yogurt: Reduce the sugar to 2–3 Tbsp and omit the vanilla extract if desired.
*Adjust the sugar to taste depending on how sweet your yogurt already is.
