What is a Daily Dozen checklist printable?
The Daily Dozen is a system created by Dr. Michael Greger from nutritionfacts.org. He developed a system for eating meals to maintain a healthy diet which he calls the “Daily Dozen”.
A checklist printable is a PDF document which you can print out and fill out with pen and paper. This is a great tool for people who want to track the Daily Dozen without using the app.
How to use this printable tracker
Here’s an example of what my printable looks like:
My printable includes a space to write the name of the person, and includes three sections for tracking three days of meals. The shaded boxes give you a quick overview of daily goals for each food category, as well as extra boxes for if you consume more than the minimum daily recommendations.
This printable also has space to write down your meals ahead of time, or after you eat them. It also has space to write down leftovers so you can keep track of what’s already in the fridge.

Why I follow the Daily Dozen
I’ve been following the Daily Dozen since 2020 and it’s been great.
Simple method for eating healthy
It’s such a simple method for ensuring I’m eating a well balanced diet.
Motivates me to eat healthy
It’s also very motivating for me! I like being able to check all these boxes.
Gives me targeted nutrition goals
The Daily Dozen also makes it easy to meal plan and shop. I have a nutritional goal in mind so I know what to shop for and prepare each week.
Avoid mealtime burnout
I rarely get stuck in a rut trying to make meals because I have this goal.

The Daily Dozen can be a lot to keep track of if you don’t have a simple method. Dr. Greger does offer a great app for this. However, I get app overwhelm and like to use pen and paper for this.
This is why I created a Daily Dozen checklist printable. I print a copy of this sheet and can track 3 days of meals and leftovers easily.
