Hi everyone! Veronica here and today I’m sharing how to make miso soup from paste. This recipe takes less than 10 minutes to prepare and is packed with plant based protein.

How to make miso soup from paste
- Makes 1 serving miso soup from paste
- Prep time: About 10 minutes

Ingredients
The ingredients you’ll need are:
- 1 tablespoons of yellow miso paste
- 2 servings of firm tofu
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
- 2 cups water
- 1 tablespoons of Trader Joe’s Furikake seasoning
- 2 tablespoons of diced onion
- 1 teaspoon chopped chives or green onion
Equipment
The equipment you will need includes:
- tablespoon measure
- soup spoon
- serving bowl
- a pot or electric kettle to boil water
Directions
- First, bring your water to a boil.
- While the water is boiling, prepare your miso paste with the other ingredients. Place 1 tablespoon of yellow miso paste into a serving bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce or tamari. Mix well to make a paste.
- Dice your tofu into small cubes. I like to use two servings of tofu, but you can use just 1 serving if desired.
- Place cubed tofu into miso paste mixture and toss the tofu to coat
- Dice your onion into small slices and add to the tofu mixture and mix well. Add furikake seasoning and mix again.
- Chop chives and add those as well.
- When water is boiling, turn off heat. Pour boiling water over tofu miso mixture and stir with serving spoon.
Tips
- Miso soup is so delicious and great for anytime of year.
- I like to enjoy this for lunch with a big alkaline cucumber salad.
