Meal prep for Daniel Fasting
Here’s a video where I share my Sunday meal prep routine for the fast:
No cook meal prep for Daniel Fasting
I also like to do quick and easy meal prep called “No Cook Meal Prep“.
This is for weeks when I don’t have time to chop or cook meals. I like to do a big grocery haul at Trader Joe’s of ingredients which are already chopped and prepared. Then, I package these ingredients into Bentgo meal prep containers for easy grab-and-go meals.
Here’s Part 4 of a video series where I share how to meal prep 28 meals in 30 minutes without chopping or cooking:
What I eat in a day (meal prep edition)
Here’s a video sharing what I eat during a typical day of Daniel Fasting when I prepare all my meals from scratch:
What is a Daniel Fast?
Daniel Fasting is a term used to describe the diet Daniel consumed during his time in captivity from the Babylonian king, as well as during other times when he limited his diet.
The Daniel Fast is a vegan diet consisting of only “vegetables and water”, as well as only foods that are not “tasteful”, which basically means foods you don’t crave.
What I meal prep for Daniel Fasting
I meal prep twice per week for the Daniel Fast, once on Sunday and once on Wednesday. I spend about 2-3 hours meal prepping food during those days.
Why meal prep?
I like to prepare food ahead of time for easy serving throughout the week. By spending some time at the beginning of the week to cook and package my meals, it saves time and energy during my busy days.

Drinks

Breakfast
Each day you’ll enjoy a simple breakfast after a hot beverage and smoothie. In the beginning of the fast you’ll enjoy oatmeal or oat bars. Then, in the last three days of the fast, you’ll enjoy an easy plant-based breakfast scramble.
Lunch
Everyday is the same lunch throughout the fast. It consists of hummus, veggies and flatbread. Keeping it simple is key to maintaining a healthy, well-balanced diet during the Daniel Fast. It also makes meal prep super quick and easy.
It’s likely you’ll find that this meal is delicious and doesn’t get boring. Meal prep all the ingredients ahead of time and store in meal prep containers for grab-and-go lunches.
Dinner
The dinners during this fast are hearty and repeating. In the first four days of the fast you’ll enjoy homemade vegan queso sauce over cooked brown rice, beans, and vegetables. Top with vegan sour cream if desired, and serve with tortillas as a burrito, taco, or tostada.
During the final three days of the fast you’ll enjoy simple roasted potatoes and vegetables topped with queso sauce or your favorite toppings.
