What are Daily Dozen meals?

The Daily Dozen is a term used to describe the nutritional recommendations from nutritionfacts.org. It’s a simple checklist system to ensure you’re getting a variety of nutrition each day.

Daily Dozen meals is a term used to describe meals packed with the daily recommended intake of specific ingredients, such as legumes, leafy greens, cruciferous vegetables and more.

Big list of Daily Dozen meals

Here’s three vegetarian meals I made the following recipes which are demonstrated in the video below:

  • Breakfast: 8-Minute Potato Vegetable Hash
  • Lunch: Veggie Burger Salad
  • Dinner: Super Veggie Fried Rice

The only Daily Dozen items not included in these three meals are snacks including:

  • Flaxseeds
  • Fruit
  • Nuts
  • Berries

Here’s my suggestions for incorporating these remaining foods into the day:

  • Sprinkle a little turmeric on the potato hash to get that in as well.
  • I enjoy turmeric powder in my morning hot cacao beverage.
  • I snack on fruits, berries, nuts and seeds.

Groceries

I like to shop at farmer’s market for most of my produce because it oftentimes cheaper and more convenient. Here’s a video sharing the produce I purchased at my local farmer’s market to prepare these healthy vegetarian meals:
